Baking sourdough looks intimidating, but it really comes down to flour, water, salt and patience.
The basic process
- Feed your starter until it is bubbly and active.
- Mix the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Stretch and fold the dough every 30 minutes for a few hours.
- Shape, chill overnight, then bake in a hot Dutch oven.
Your first loaf will not be perfect, and that is completely fine. Each bake teaches you something new.
